-Pavel Datsyuk and the Red Wings have agreed to a 3-year extension. The deal is worth $23 million, with his cap hit at $7.667 million, highest on the team. The deal can't be officially announced until July 5 because Datsyuk has one year at $6.7 million remaining on his current contract. The Red Wings center scored 15 goals and 34 assists in the lockout season, with 3 goals and 6 assists in the playoffs.
-The Hershey Bears announce Mike Haviland as the new head coach of the team. He was a Blackhawks assistant from 2008-2012, and was AHL coach of the year with Norfolk in 2007.
