Check out today's episode of Pittsburgh Sports Reporters!
We can talk all we want about play calling, coaching decisions, clock mismanagement and Antonio Brown's stepping out of bounds all we want. But the central point is...the Steelers defense is terrible. Bottom line. All other discussion is secondary. And personnel AND philosophy have to change next year. We'll talk to Tom Bradley at 12:30. Plenty to say about the events in Boston Saturday night. I'm still angry. What's your take on Thornton's attack on Orpik? We'll ask Mike Lange about it at 1. Plus Mike Prisuta will weigh in on both topics at 1:30, with Mr.
Monday Night's pick on tonight's Dallas/Chicago game at 1:45
It was a snapshot in time...not necessarily an indication of what might take place in a long series. And giving up 45 shots is not a recipe for victory...usually. But still, without Malkin, Martin, Scuderi, et al, the Pens win over San Jose was impressive. And although it's still only a third of the way through the regular season, are whatever concerns you may have had about Marc-Andre Fleury dissipating? We'll talk to Rob Rossi of the Trib at 12:30. A win over Miami would keep the Steelers playoff hopes alive, but are you even thinking about the remainder of this season in those terms? Or are you more interested in their ultimate draft position? Matt Williamson joins me at 1:30 to analyze the Miami game, and the Tomlin situation. I've got a couple of betting tidbits concerning the Steelers game for you. And today at 1 it's Fantasy Football with Duane the Brain, so send your questions in!
Coaches are primarily judged on their win/loss record. But now, other issues are being used to evaluate Mike Tomlin. Do you judge him strictly by the numbers? If not, what is it you like or DON'T like about the guy? Anxious to see your responses..I'll offer mine as well.
How good are the injury ravaged Penguins? Good tests coming up against San Jose and Boston. We'll talk to Phil Bourque at 1.
One of our listeners has a fantastic analogy as to why the Pirates made a mistake by not signing Justin Morneau at reasonable money. I'll present that take to you. For the time being (let's see if they acquire someone elseto play first) I do think it was a mistake. Do you?
So Tomlin gets fine 100 grand. Sounds about right. But if the NFL takes a draft choice(s) away, that would be a travesty. Your thoughts on these matters, plus what did you think of his statement/apology yesterday? We'll talk about it with Gerry Dulac at 1:30. Sid again shows why he's the best in the world. We'll talk about the Pens win with Paul Steigerwald at 1. The Pirates trade for C Chris Stewart relegates Tony Sanchez to the minors. I don't get it. I'll get the thoughts of Rob King at 12:30. Also today, local author Dale Grdnic has written a new book about the Steelers. Find out more at 1:15
