Well, so much for playing well but losing. Not an issue in Game 2. Awful, Incomprehensible, Humiliating! Any other words to describe that performance...at least ones that are printable here? Do you hold out any hope that they will somehow rebound and win this series? I'll give you my thoughts.
And we'll hear from some of the participants in last night's game, although most of them barely participated. Steigy will join us at 1:00.
No rivers to hit around Turner Field, but the Braves tried 3 nevertheless. AJ = HR's last night. Teke at 1:30.
And the Steelers sign their top picks earlier than I can ever remember. Gerry Dulac at 12:30 with the latest on Mike Adams.
Am I the only one who thinks the Penguins didn't play badly in Game 1? Not good enough, obvioiusly, but not poorly as they did in several of the Islander games. Do you draw any positives from the way they played, even though they lost? Also, I did not mind Malkin and Crosby getting physically involved. Game 1 is the time to do it. If you don't, Boston will keep coming. Given the widespread feeling that the officials overreated on the Cooke hit, might be the Bruins who will be under the microscope now. We'll talk to Mike Lange at 1...and hear from former Pens coach and broadcaster Eddie Olczyk. And how big a win was that for the Pirates yesterday? Not just in avoiding a sweep, but the way in which they won! Holding their own against the best teams in baseball....thus far.
Busy day tomorrow on the show. At 12:30, Upper St. Clair's own Sean Casey talks Bucs and MLB. Then at 1, Pirates manager Clint Hurdle. And at 1:30 from Ottawa, Josh Yohe of the Trib, to talk about Game 4. Plus, it's JOTW day...so vote!
Yeah...2 days have gone by, but I can't get Game 3 out of my head. How much do you blame the coach for his choice of personnel on that power play? I think the Pens are still in good shape...but there's something that bothers me greatly. I'll share it with you, plus I'm wondering if you are still confident. Was the OT loss merely a blip on the radar? Steigy at 1. OTA's are underway on the South Side. Gerry Dulac talks Steelers at 12:30. And is Jeff a Locke to solidify what is becoming a solid Pirates rotation? Bucs 9-2 last 11 games! We'll talk to Tim Williams of PirateProspects.com at 1:30.
We probably--no, definitely--spend too much time worrying about line combinations. Could change on the 2nd shift of the game. But what's the rationale behind moving Iginla off of Sid's line, and putting him on Malkin's left wing? Speaking of Iggy, of the 4 players acquired at the trade deadline, who, in your opinion, has been the most valuable? Rob Rossi talks Pens at 1. Another very good outing by Francisco Liriano. One of our regular listeners suggest this group of Pirate pitchers may be the best since the Jim Leyland teams of the early 90"s. Think about it. Maybe he's right. And Matt Williamson will talk Steelers and NFL at 1:30, Game 2 tonight, Game On for Savran on Sports!
